    Ken grew up in a rural farming area in Western Pennsylvania. There he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball, and later worked on a local dairy farm. He graduated from Reynolds High School with the Class of 1991 and immediately enlisted in the Air Force. He is a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler fan! He moved to Northern Idaho in March 2019 where he continues to enjoy outdoor activities.  

     

    He entered the Air Force on September 24, 1991.  His military background includes various duties associated with nuclear weapons and Manpower and Organization. In the nuclear weapons arena, he fulfilled roles as Maintenance Team Chief, Chief of Munitions Control, Weapons Handling Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, and Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty Office. Mid-career he cross trained into Manpower and Organization and fulfilled duties as the Superintendent, Combat Requirements Program Manager, and Joint Manpower Requirements Program Manager. His stateside assignments include bases in Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, and Georgia. He also served overseas at bases in Greece, Italy, and The Netherlands. He retired on Oct 1, 2017, after 26 years of service.  

     

    He currently serves as the Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Consultant and Local Veteran Employment Representative since March 2021. His responsibilities include conducting outreach to Veteran and local businesses within the Northern Idaho Panhandle Region. For Veterans he performs job placement and job assistance through Case Management for Veterans with Significant Barriers to Employment including homelessness, low-income, disabled, Vietnam Era, and age group from 18 – 24. He also conducts outreach efforts to local employers to showcase the advantages of hiring Veterans such an accelerated learning curve, leadership, teamwork, performing under pressure, integrity, and many other aspects. He also provides presentations to employers to explain the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, Department of Defense’s Skillbridge Program, Apprenticeships, and Vets Hire Medallion Award.
